Christi Idavoy

Lead Educator, Polestar Pilates

Christi Idavoy is a movement educator, mindfulness coach, retreat facilitator, and lifelong student

of human potential. Based in the lush tropical mountains of Costa Rica, she is passionate about

helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, awareness, and meaningful

experiences that nourish the body, mind, and spirit.

Originally trained in 2000 in the tradition of Swami Rama’s Himalayan Yoga Science & Philosophy

in New York City, Christi blends over two decades of experience in Yoga, Pilates, somatic

practices, mindfulness, and personal transformation. She is a Senior Educator with Polestar Pilates

and the owner of Polestar Pilates Biscayne in Miami—the first Polestar Pilates franchise—as well

as Polestar Pilates Costa Rica in San José. Her teaching is informed by additional studies in

Feldenkrais®, GYROTONIC®, somatic healing modalities, and The Pacific Institute’s mindfulness

training programs.

Christi currently serves as the Faculty Manager for Polestar USA and is an active member of the

Polestar curriculum development team. She is deeply passionate about supporting educators and

helping shape the future of Pilates education through faculty development programs, leadership

trainings, and retreats. In addition to her work in the United States, she contributes to faculty

development initiatives for Polestar International and enjoys mentoring teachers around the world.

Known for her warm, thoughtful, and integrative approach, Christi believes that every body is telling

a valuable and honest story. Her work invites people to cultivate inquisitive awareness, honor their

present experience, and discover the profound intelligence that emerges when movement, breath,

emotion, and intention come into harmony. Through practices rooted in mindfulness, gratitude, and

embodied presence, she helps individuals access greater resilience, self-understanding, and

authentic well-being.

Beyond the studio and classroom, Christi facilitates transformational retreats, cacao ceremonies,

and immersive experiences that weave together movement, contemplation, nature, ritual, and

personal growth. She has lectured and taught throughout the United States, Latin America, and

Europe, sharing her passion for movement education, human development, and embodied

leadership with diverse audiences.

Before finding her true vocation in movement, Christi pursued graduate studies in Spanish

Literature and later attended the United Nations University for Peace, where she studied Peace

Studies and Conflict Resolution. While she once dreamed of becoming a diplomat, she ultimately

discovered that her greatest contribution would be helping people create peace within

themselves—one breath, one movement, and one meaningful conversation at a time.
